about me !

My name is Isabella Kim (Hyemin)and I’m a recent graduate of Animation Production at the University of Technology, majoring in 2D animation with a general skill set across all stages of the production pipeline. However, I am most proficient in storyboarding, concept illustration, character design and character performance animation. To perform these roles, I’ve developed skills in using industry standard softwares such as Toon Boom Harmony, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro and Clip Studio.

I’d like to think that I have an easy going and adaptive personality, with the ability to collaborate well with others !

Upon graduating, I’m really eager to further enhance my skills in 2D animation and keen to learn about the industry process on a deeper level, and I'm seeking a studio to flourish my development. I’m also seeking to make connections with other creatives to broaden my scope of the animation industry, so I’d be thrilled to get to know you !

Began my Bachelors of Animation Production at University of Technology.

Final Year Thesis Film Collaborative Project :

My partner and I created a 2D + 3D animation capstone film that explores the absurdity of modern labour under late stage capitalism with a satirical undertone and surrealistic approach. Rather than a critique, it is an exaggerated reimagination of the unspoken experiences of the psychological burden customer service roles endure in the retail industry.

Collaborative project with an Australian clothing brand called 'In lieu'

Project. 1 : "Time in lieu"

In lieu's first collection explored the idea of how time is presented in our world, and how finite we feel time is - as such it must be spent wisely doing the things we love.

Project. 2 : "Makkuro"

This collection aimed to redefine the use of the colour black in clothing through alpaca wool, presenting the craftmanship of the unconventional texture while also maintaining a versatile silhouette as an elevated staple.

Project. 3 : "Crayon"

'Crayon' was a collection about "colouring outside the lines" to revisit the whimsical energy we grew up with and still have within ourselves, despite being a 'grown-up'. It uses the Aussie childhood experience as the core concept to create a universal resonation within the Australian Asian community.

Bachelors of Animation Production complete.

I'm always open to collaborate with local creatives !!!

I'm always on the look out for projects involving 2D animation, visdev, character design or illustration work.

I look forward to working with you !
